National Highway of 5987 km will be built under Bharatmala Yojana

Bhopal-Indore 6-lane Express-way to also get approval
Bhopal: The central government has given approval in principle for construction of national highway of 5987 kilometers in the first phase in Madhya Pradesh under Bharatmala Yojana. These routes will be constructed as 4-lane routes. The implementation agency of construction works will be NHAI. Construction of Jabalpur bypass, Sagar bypass, Gwalior bypass and Orchha bypass are included in these schemes.
Approval in principle has been granted for Bhopal-Indore 6-lane Expressway and Bhopal Bypass South-West part under the Bharatmala Yojana. The cost of Expressway highway will be Rs 4 thousand crore. The Consultant Company has been selected to make the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this work.
Electronic Toll Collection
The Public Works Department has made arrangements for an electronic toll collection on the Bhopal-Dewas road to save all kinds of vehicles from waiting in long queues in toll booths. Process is on to make arrangement for electronic toll collection in the remaining routes also in the state. As per contract of the department with toll tax contractors, there is provision to take injured accident victims to the nearest health care centre for first aid.
