Registration of hospitals to be cancelled if they deny treatment: Health Minister Silawat

Gives neccessary instructions in meeting of Senior Officers
Bhopal: Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Tulsiram Silawat has said that a strategy has been prepared to tackle swine flu. This was informed by Silawat while reviewing the current status of arrangements in the government and identified private hospitals of the state with the Principal Secretary Health Pallavi Jain Govil, Health Commissioner Nitesh Vyas, Director Dr. B.N. Chouhan and other senior officers.
State, Division and District level Monitoring Teams to be formed
Silawat instructed that arrangements for treatment of patients suffering from swine flu should be ensured by forming state, division and district level monitoring teams. Health Commissioner, Director Health, Joint Director and Deputy Director have been included in the state level monitoring team. The state level monitoring team will obtain a state level report twice a day.
Divisional, Zonal Director and Deputy Director have been included in the Division level Monitoring Team. This team will inspect hospitals and send a report to the senior office. In the District Level Monitoring team, Collector, Chief Medical and Health Officer, D.H.O. and Nodal Officer (Epidemiologist) have been included. The District level Monitoring Team besides ensuring treatment arrangements will send a report daily in morning and evening at the state level.
It was informed in the meeting that Tamiflu medicine for the treatment of patients suffering from swine flu is available in sufficient quantity in the state. The medicine has been sent to all the government and identified private hospitals. Facility to test swine flu sample is available in AIIMS-Bhopal, G.M.C.-Bhopal, N.I.R.T.H.-Jabalpur and D.R.D.O.- Gwalior. Minister Silawat said that he should be informed daily about the status of swine flu including complete district wise information comprising names of the hospitals and numbers of patients undergoing treatment in the hospitals besides treatment arrangement. He himself will review the status. He further mentioned that negligence in treatment will not be tolerated. If any identified private hospital denies treatment then its registration should be cancelled, he added.
Health Minister meets swine flu patients
Minister Silawat reached private hospitals of Bhopal directly from Vidhan Sabha in the afternoon today. He met swine flu patients undergoing treatment in National and Bansal Hospitals and discussed with doctors about the treatment. Silawat sent Health Officers to other hospitals of the city to meet patients and to take stock of the arrangements. Along with this, Silawat gave directives over phone to the Joint Directors of Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior and Jabalpur besides other divisions and Chief Medical and Health Officers of other districts to ensure treatment of swine flu patients and arrangements at the hospitals. He also gave instructions to conduct a wide publicity in connection to measures for protection from swine flu.
