Encourage research on contemporary issues: Governor Patel

96th meeting of University Coordination Committee concludes 

Bhopal: Governor Anandiben Patel said that the natural talent of students must be encouraged in higher education. Study and research of the distinctiveness and success of contemporary issues must be conducted. Patel was addressing the 96th meeting of the University Coordination Committee here today. The vice-chancellors of government and private universities of the state were present in the meeting.

Governor Patel said that efforts must be made to encourage the studiousness of children. Children should be given the time and opportunity to read books of their interest. Programmes such as book reviews should be held. Teachers should take the initiative in this so that the students get motivated and come forward. Smt. Patel explained the need for discussions on innovative and practical outcome of modern research. She said that the initiative of Padhe Bhopal programme should be regularly followed by the University. Referring to the excellent arrangements in the Kumbh event, the Governor said that there was need to promote students for study and research in various higher education courses.

The proceedings of the previous meeting of the University Coordination Committee were confirmed in the meeting. NAC evaluation, 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, appointment of Lokpal, solutions to students’problems, integrated university management system and progress of Padhe Bhopal programme was discussed in detail at the meeting.

Principal Secretary Law and Legal Affairs S.K. Singh, Principal Secretary Higher Education Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil, Principal Secretary Technical Education Pramod Agarwal and Secretary to the Governor D.D. Agarwal were present in the meeting.-Window To News
