According to the Railways rules, if you book an online ticket and want to cancel it online, then the money returned to the account after the ticket cancelation. But for your information, let you know that the normal passenger’s e-ticket can’t be canceled online after the chart is prepared.



If you have booked an online ticket and you want to cancel the ticket after the chart has been prepared, you will have to use the online TDR filing facility. At the same time, you can cancel the ticket booked from the counter to the Reservation Counter.



If more than one passenger is traveling on the same PNR number, then you can make a ticket cancellation of those passengers who are unable to travel with you for some reason. According to the information received from IRCTC, if the confirm ticket is canceled 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, then there is a separate charge for deduction for each categories. For AC First Class / Executive Class, there is a deduction of Rs. 240 (per passenger), while for AC 2 Tier 200 rupees per passenger, AC 3 Tier / AC Chair Car / AC3 economy Rs 180 will be deducted for per passenger.



Now know about the sleeper class, there is a reduction of 120 rupees per passenger on confirmed ticket cancellation. At the same time, the non-AC chair car has a cancellation charge of 60 rupees per person for confirm ticket.



For ticket cancellation from the first 48 hours to 12 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, 25 per cent cancellation fee is charged under the minimum flat rate. At the same time, the cancellation charge is 50 per cent of the fare for confirmed ticket for less than 12 hours from the scheduled departure of the train and four hours before the ticket cancellation.



For your information, let you know that the cancellation for the RAC ticket can be done 30 minutes before the train is departed, but if there is an e-RAC ticket and the chart has been prepared then the online TDR for refund will be filled. If you have a Tatkal confirmed ticket then you will not get any refund by IRCTC.
