The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) today rescued two teenage girls working as domestic workers who were being allegedly abused by their employers and not paid their salaries.

"We were apprised about the girls by NGO's - Justice Venture International (JVI) and EFICOR. The girls were from West Bengal and worked in separate houses in Vikaspuri. The owner of the placement agency is on the run," a DCW official said.

"The 16-year-old girl has mentioned in her statement that she was sexually abused by her owner. The accused is a 64-year-old civil engineer and the minor had come to work at his place last month in January," the official added.

According to the officials, the other girl (18) has mentioned in her statement that she was working in Vikaspuri since October last year and was not paid since her joining.

She was physically abused on regular basis and not permitted to communicate with her family, the official said.IAN
