May 03 (WTN) - India is the world's largest democracy, and everybody has the freedom of expression of speech and writing in the realm of the Constitution. There was a time when the newspapers and the magazines used to print satire and articles on politicians and politics. Now there has been a change over the time and social media has taken the place of newspapers and magazines, and sarcasm on politicians and politics is now being done through this platform.

There was a time when satires, which were published in the newspapers and the magazines, had the standard level with the words. But it has been seen that instead of satirizing on the name of freedom of expression in the social media, joking is seen there. At this time while the Lok Sabha Elections are going on in the country, it has been observed that some people on social media platforms crop the faces of the politicians for laughter, either they use them in a video or use it in Meme. But if you are doing this then let you information that this is against the rules of the Election Commission.

As you know, these days the social media has become a medium of publicity for the Lok Sabha Elections. Politicians and political parties promote their campaign through social media, which is nowadays considered to be the cheapest and accessible means. But it has been seen that social media is becoming a cause of trouble for the politicians. You may have noticed that by cropping the picture of different leaders, by using it people share rap song videos on social media. In these videos, politicians are shown dancing.

For your information, let you know that by doing so on social media is a crime in the eyes of the Election Commission. If someone is found doing this, then he/she will have a simple case registered. The Commission says that posting photos and videos on social media by cropping comes into the category of crime and this is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

If the Election Commission gets information that if someone has posted an offending post, then the case will be registered against him/her. According to the information, the monitoring committee of the Election Commission is constantly monitoring the social media. However, no such case has yet been registered.

But we advise you to be careful before posting or sharing anything on social media. Whatever you post or share on social media, there should not be any objectionable cropping video in any way. Also keep in mind that the language you are posting on social media should be civilized. Due to a false or disputed post, there may be a case filed against you, so beware on the social media.
