The Indian Army offers a better salary package to the youth to join the force 
 
MAY 09 (WTN) – Do you know that India, an atomic power country, has been facing the lacking of young officers problem in Army. Yes you are surprised after reading this, but it is true. For your information, let you know that three services of Indian Armed Forces are facing the shortening of the officers. Let you know that Indian Army needs 49, 933 officers, but instead it only 42,635 officers are giving their services.
 
That is to say that the Indian Army is facing the shortening of near about 7,000 officers. Here in the Indian Navy, there is the shortening of near about 1,606 officers. And in the Indian Air Force, 192 posts of the officers are vacant.
 
It has been observed since last many times that the craze for joining the Army job in the youth declined. Pointing out this view, the Indian Army is going to encourage the youth to join armed forces. As per the information, the Army has decided to give a better salary package and paid leave after completing 10 or 14 years in the Short Service Commission, and all this is to encourage the youth.
 
Pestered to the shortening of the officers in the Armed Forces, the Indian Army has deiced to take a new step to encourage the youth to join the Armed Forces. According to the information, the officers will get Rs 17 lakh after leaving 10 years service, and Rs 38 lakh for completing 14 years service.
 
As per the new package which is to be given, two months’ salary of every year will be added, and its amount will be given after 10 years service of the officer. Whereas four months’ salary will be added after completing of 10 years service when if officer completes 14 years service, and it will be given in the last. Not only that the fully paid leave for the professional courses will be provided to the officers.
 
For your information, let you know that the officers posted under the Short Service Commission are short term and their 20-year term is not completed, due to which they can’t get the pension entitlements. In such a situation, they can be sent to Defense Security Corps or National Cadet Corps.
 
The lack of officers in the three forces the Army in India is the cause of concern. It has been observed that in the modern times, youth's interest in army jobs has decreased. There may be many reasons behind this, but whatever the reasons, the army has to face the lack of officers’ problem. In such a way, the planning that is being made to make the youth attractive to the job of the Army is good. Now let’s see how much of this effects on the young?
