Review of preparations for elections in Shajapur and Aagar-Malwa
Bhopal , May 16, 2019: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V. L. Kanta Rao reviewed preparations for the Lok Sabha election-2019 at Shajapur and Aagar-Malwa district headquarters. Rao also met representatives of recognized political parties and observers appointed by the Election Commission of India.
CEO instructed that officers posted for election work should continue to visit their areas. They should take immediate action in case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct or other illegal activities. He told micro observers to supervise the election process continuously and not sit at the polling booth without any work. He said that micro observers to give special training separately.
Rao told the nodal officers to perform their duties and fulfill their responsibilities seriously and honestly and work according to the protocol of the Election Commission of India, 72 hours, 48 hours and 24 hours before voting. He also held a discussion with the District returning Officers on critical voting centres, security in vulnerable areas, distribution of voter slips and voter guides, shade for voters, drinking water and other arrangements at polling stations, GPS systems in the vehicles engaged in electoral work etc.
IG Police (Election) Yogesh Chaudhary reviewed the security arrangements. He said continuous movement of posted police force should be maintained. Conduct regular checks of the area with the sector magistrate. Excise Commissioner Rajneesh Srivastava instructed to take immediate action in cases involving sale of illegal liquor and illegal transportation.- Window To News
