Decline in mobile phones consumer’s numbers in India!

Due to ‘this’ reason, mobile phone consumers being decreased in India every month

JUNE 04 (WTN) - In the second largest populated country of the world India, the number of mobile phone subscribers is more than the total population of Europe. Since Reliance Jio entering in field of mobile network, there has been a steady increase in the number of mobile phone subscribers in the country. But after a steady rise in the number of mobile subscribers at a time, the number of mobile subscribers has decreased in India now!

For your information, let you know that according to data of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), the number of mobile subscribers in India declined to 116.18 crore in the month of March. If compared to the month of February, 2.18 crore mobile subscribers have decreased in the month of March. Not only that, the total phone density in the country decreased to 90.11 at the end of March, while in February phone density was 91.86.

Decreasing the number of mobile phone subscribers in country with a large population like India is quite considerable in itself. However, the argument of TRAI is something else about this. TRAI believes that the number of mobile subscribers, for some time, have reduced due to mobile network companies’ obligation of the monthly minimum recharge plan.  That is why, because those mobile connections have been discontinued which were not active.

Well, the experts of this field believe that the reduction in the number of mobile users is not a matter of concern. The number of consumers' numbers becomes to fluctuate time to time. But if there is a decrease in the number of mobile subscribers continuously, this can be a cause of concern. TRAI also has a clear view that the reduction in the number of mobile subscribers is not a cause for concern, and the regulator does not need any interference in it.

The situation is even clearer if consumers of mobile network companies are looked at. According to TRAI figures, in the month of March, subscribers of Vodafone-Idea company was reduced 1.45 crore. At the same time 1.51 crore subscribers of Bharti Airtel were reduced during this period. However, while the decline was recorded in the number of consumers of the remaining mobile network companies, Reliance Jio added 94 lakh new customers.

Whatever the reason, but if the number of mobile phone subscribers has been constantly decreased, TRAI will have to consider it. Actually, once up on a time in India, SIM was a lot cheaper, due to which a person had many mobile numbers. However, the mobile consumer had many numbers but consumer used to active only one or two numbers. At the same time, after entering the Reliance Jio in mobile network, data became so cheap in the country that today 99 per cent of mobile consumers have a smartphone. Due to competition with Reliance Jio, the rest of the mobile network companies had to reduce data plan, after which there has been a rapid increase in the number of mobile subscribers in the country in 2017 and 2018.

But other companies could not compete to Jio, and they started monthly minimum recharge to fulfill their deficit. Due to monthly minimum recharge, mobile users stopped recharging the mobile numbers which were not active. For this reason, the number of mobile phone subscribers has decreased in the country for some time now. Experts believe that this will continue for the next few months, until the SIM of the mobile phone consumers get discontinued, which are not active. This is the reason that the number of mobile phone subscribers is decreasing due to closure of inactive SIM of mobile phone consumers.
