The People's University celebrates the International Yoga Day

The People's University gives "Do Yoga, Stay Healthy" message on the International Yoga Day

JUNE 21 (WTN) – “Do Yoga, Stay Healthy” with this message, the People's University organized a program on the International Yoga Day. The program on the International Yoga Day started with Saraswati Vandana and lighting of lamp. Dr. Neerja Malik, Registrar of People's University, Prof. Akhilesh Mittal, Dean (Students Welfare), and Yoga Teacher of the University Mrs. Sushma Chandekar were present on the occasion. At the same time, Dr. Rajesh Kapoor, Vice Chancellor of the People's University, said on the International Yoga Day “By doing regular Yoga, we can survive from many diseases.” Vice Chancellor Dr. Kapoor appreciated the great presentation given on Yoga by participants on Yoga Day.  



On the occasion of the International Yoga Day, Dr. Neerja Malik, Registrar of the People's University, encouraged everyone to do Yoga and said, “Everyone should do Yoga daily to be healthy.” Dr. Malik thanked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that due to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi, the United Nations had declared the International Yoga Day on 21st June. Dr. Malik said that it is a matter of pride for all Indians that the whole world is adopting the Indian Yoga.



While addressing the program, Yoga Teacher Sushma Chandekar gave detailed information about Yoga. Chandekar said “Yoga is a life pattern that brings positive change in the life of human being and refines personality. By doing Yoga, human energy can be used in a positive way.” Yoga teacher Chandekar said, “Yoga teaches humans to adapt in adverse environment.” While Chandekar explained she said that try the best that Yoga practice should always be done under the guidance of a Yoga Guru.



On the occasion of the International Yoga Day, students and staff of the People's University demonstrated some of the Asanas of Yoga in the skillful direction of Yoga Teacher Sushma Chandekar and explained their characteristics. During this time Vaishnavi Sharma, Prakshal, Vikas, Tarikh, Nivedita, Rashmi, Anjali, Blessy, lecturer Priyanka Joshi and Dr. Sangeeta Jain demonstrated various Yoga Asanas.



On this occasion, the People's University awarded the best performing participants in Yoga. In which the first prize won by Anjali Unnikrishnan. Lecturer Priyanka Joshi got the second prize and Blessy got the third prize.



While the People's University Professor Dr. Sangeeta Jain shared her experience in the program and said. “She has got a lot of benefits from doing Yoga.” Dr Jain told that the diseases that were in his body gradually had got away due to Yoga.



At the end of the program, Prof. Akhilesh Mittal, Dean (Student Welfare) of the People's University thanked everyone and said that all of us should include Yoga in our daily routine. This program conducted by Jasmine Rini John student of the People's College of Nursing.



On the occasion of the International Yoga Day, the boys and girls NCC cadets of the People's University participated in the Yoga Day program on the Lal Parade ground in Bhopal with Captain R. P. Choudhury and Captain Summi Chaudhary, the University's NCC Officer. The NCC cadets of the People's University won everyone heart by performing well.
