Mysore painting workshop starts at IGRMS

Bhopal, July 4: Under the 2nd face of  Skill Development Workshop programme of the museum, the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya organising Special Skill development Workshop on Mysore Painting till 14th July, 2019. On this occasion today Joint Director of IGRMS, Dilip Singh, Participant and senior official of IGRMS formally inaugurated Museum’s training workshop for Mysore Painting of Karnataka. On this Workshop, the training on Mysore Painting of Karnataka is being provided by Smt Chandrika and Smt. Dipti to the registered participants at Avritti Bhawan Hall.

On this occasion, Chandrika told that, the illustrations of gods, goddesses and mythological figures with instructions to painters on an incredible range of topics concerning composition placement, colour choice, individual attributes and mood. The ragas, seasons, eco-happenings, animals, and plant world are also effectively depicted in these paintings as co-themes or contexts.

She further told that, a sketch drawn as per the subject first either on a white sheet of paper or a cloth pasted on wooden board treated with copper sulphate as insecticide. The using a mixture of white lead power of Magnesium Oxide with gum, the ornament as to bring a real leaf on this embossed potion. Usually green, black, brown, dark, red, blue are the colours used in this paintings depending upon the subject of the painting. The characteristics of Mysore Traditional Painting are embossing, genuine gold leaf, colours scheme and the thin and very fine line.- Window To News
