A seminar organized at the People's University on environmental pollution

The youth take resolution to control pollution with understanding, cooperation and dedication

JULY 06 (WTN) - To reduce the environmental pollution increasing from day to day, taking the resolution to control the pollution with understanding, cooperation and dedication, a seminar was organized at the People's University in Bhopal by the NCC unit of the University under the Mega Pollution Awareness fortnight.
The program started with the lighting process before the Goddess Saraswati. In the seminar, scientist in Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Dr T. Sufi Khan, Vice Chancellor of People's University, Dr Rajesh Kapoor, Dean (Academic) of the University) Dr V. K. Pandya, University Registrar Dr Neerja Malik and the Commanding Officer of the NCC Bhopal Girls Fourth Battalion Colonel Mukesh Tiwari, were present.

Speaking as a keynote speaker in the seminar, Dr T. Sufi Khan warned everyone of increasing environmental pollution. In her speech, Dr Khan said that we are all responsible for environmental pollution in some way or the other. In modern times, human being has exploited the resources of earth so badly, due to which from the lack of water today to the rising temperature has become a cause for worry. Scientist Dr Khan called upon everyone that we should make changes in our daily routine and should try our best not to have water, air and noise pollution.

In her address, Dr Khan gave a detailed account of the various rules, laws and acts created for pollution control. Dr Khan advised everyone to be alert and said that if all of us would not pay attention to the pollution control during the time, the situation could be even more alarming in the coming time. Dr Khan, while explaining to the younger generation, said that with increasing sense of cooperation and dedication, the problem of increasing pollution could be stopped.

Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor of People's University Dr Rajesh Kapoor said, “The human being is responsible for pollution.” Dr Kapoor gave an example of capital Bhopal, explaining that due to pollution, the temperature of Bhopal goes up to 45 degrees during summer, while nearly 30 years ago the maximum temperature of Bhopal remained around 35 degrees. Dr Kapoor, while explaining to everyone of environmental protection, said that increasing pollution could be overcome through investigation, cause and prevention.

Colonel Mukesh Tiwari, Commanding Officer of NCC Bhopal Girls' Fourth Battalion, also addressed the seminar. Colonel Tiwari thanked to the Director of the People's University Medha Vijayvargia for organizing this seminar. In his speech, Col Tiwari said that people of India are becoming victims of all kinds of pollution, and whose liable they are themselves. Col Tiwari said that apart from environmental pollution, the thinking of Indian people and Indian culture are also being polluted due to the social media networking. Col Tiwari expressed hope from the younger generation will take the responsibility of protecting environment and cultural pollution.

Prizes were also distributed to the winner of the painting competition organized on environmental protection and pollution in the seminar. In the girl’s category, the second runners-up were Sonali Bairagi and Ankita Singh. First runners-up award were given to Muskan Chandravanshi and Muskan Dhakad. Sonam Singh got the first place in girl’s category. At the same time in the Boys category, second runner-up was Akash Kumar Shivale, and the first runner-up was Deepak Kumar. The winner of this category was Shubham Kumar Rai. The award was given to the winners by Dr T. Sufi Khan.

The seminar organized by People's University was attended by the personnel of the Army along with the cadets of 4 MP Girls Battalion of People's University and cadets of 1 MP, CTR Boys were present. This seminar was successfully conducted in the successful direction of Captain Ram Choudhary and Captain Summi Choudhary, NCC Officer of People's University. The spectacular anchoring of the seminar was done by SUO Rovica Thapa and SGT Ankita Singh.
