More than 4 lakh seats to increase in the trains across the country

Now seats to be available easily to the passengers from this 'scheme' of railway!

JULY 12 (WTN) – The Indian Railways and the crowd are synonymous to each other. In the Indian trains, crowds are increasing day by day, due to which the passengers getting the reserved seats in the train are becoming increasingly difficult. Due to the long-pending waiting list, the travelers often have to cancel the journey. However, from time to time, the railway continues to claim that it is making all efforts to reduce the waiting list of the passengers, but due to the limited trains and the limited seats, the passengers are finding it difficult to get the reserved seats in the trains.

Among all this, the Indian Railways claims that the train ticket will be available easily in the future soon. For your information, let you know that the railway is going to take such a step, which will increase more than 4 lakh seats every day in the country for the reserved travel in the trains from October. With the aim of the increasing the seats in the trains, the Railways is now going to adopt such technology, which will not require the power car (generator box) to be installed separately for light, fans, AC in the train coaches. The railways say that the power supply will now be used only by the rail engine.

For your information, let you know that currently one to two generator bogies are attached with the Linke Hofmann Busch coaches (LHB) type trains. The Electricity is supplied to all the coaches from these diesel generators. It is known as the 'End on Generation' (EOG) Technology. But now the Indian Railways has decided to use the world's most popular 'Head On Generation' (HOG) technology. In this new technology, the electricity is supplied to the coaches only from the electric wires of the train, from where the power of the railway engine gets the electricity.

According to the railway, about 5,000 coaches of the Indian Railways will be operating from HOG technology from October 2019. With this, the generators will be removed from the trains gradually, which will allow the additional coaches to be attached in the trains. The railways claim that by using HOG technology, the railways will save Rs 6,000 crore spent on the fuel every year.

For your information, let you know that a non-AC compartment of the train needs 120 units per hour to supply electricity. This power supply consumes 40 liters of diesel per hour. At the same time 65 to 70 liters diesel is required per hour for an AC coach of the train. That is in this way in a train with 18 to 24 compartments, hundreds of liters of diesel are consumed only for the supply of the electricity.

The railway says that the adoption of the new technology will not result in air and noise pollution along with it will save the fuel, because the new technology will gradually remove the generator car from the trains, which will save daily thousands of liters of diesel. There will be a reduction in carbon emissions by 700 tons per year due to non-consumption of diesel.

The railways claim that by using the HOG technology in the trains, a generator car will be reduced from the trains. By doing so, an additional coach can be attached in the train, and which will allow the allotment of nearly 4 lakh berths every day to the passengers in the trains. Doing this will not only ensure the waiting list of the travelers, but also increase the earnings of the railways.
