Indian Railways adopts 'No Bill, No Payment' policy!

JULY 19 (WTN) - From time to time, Indian Railways takes new steps for the safety and the convenience of the passengers. The facilities of Indian Railways have improved considerably over time but still there are complaints from the quality and the service of the food they purchase in the trains and at the platforms. It has been observed that whenever a passenger buys any food item in the train or at the platform, bill is not given by vendor. Many times there has been debate between vendor and passenger over this matter, after which thousands of passengers have registered complaints against vendors for asking more money than the price fixed by Railways. Now after thousands of such complaints, Railways have now decided to provide better facilities to the passengers.

According to the new policy of the Indian Railways, it is now necessary to give the bill by the vender in the train or at railway platform. If a vendor does not give the bill in the train or at platform, then the food item will be completely free. Rail Minister Piyush Goyal has tweeted the information about this new policy of Indian Railways. According to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, "It has been mandatory for the vendor to bill the customers by adopting the policy of No Bill, No Payment by the Railways. If a vendor refuses to bill you on the train or at railway platform, then you do not have to pay it to him." Explaining his point, the Railway Minister shared a video on the tweeter.

The Indian Railways has implemented the policy of No Bill, No Payment, with immediate effect, in all the stations, platforms and trains of the country. For your information, let you know that lakhs of complaints about the arbitrariness of the vendors at railway stations and in the trains every year, to the railway ministry. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had told in Parliament few days ago that during the last three years, only the Ministry of Railways received more than 7 lakh complaints through social media.

In 2016-17, the Ministry of Railways received 1,71,109 complaints regarding vendors, so the number of such complaints were 2,79,376 in the year 2017-18. In the last financial year 2018-19, the Railways received 2,47,546 complaints. According to the railways, the action was taken immediately after receiving the complaint, which provided 5,12,291positive feedbacks.

This new policy has been adopted by the Indian Railways for the convenience of the passengers in the train after a long time, which was demanded by travelers. It has been observed that in the train and at the platform, the money was taken by the vendors on the price of any food item from the passengers at a higher rate than the price fixed by the railways. On this issue there was also a debate between the vendor and the passenger. In some cases, the debate changed over fighting. Indian Railways have adopted the policy of No Bill, No Payment to stop this arbitrariness with passengers every day, so that the traveler can pay the right price for the item purchased by him, and a vendor can’t do any arbitrary with passenger.

People say that this step taken by the Modi Government is a very good decision taken in the interest of the passengers. With this new policy of Indian Railways, the passengers will get the food items at the right price, and there will be a rectification in the corruption. Well to say that the Indian Railways has implemented the policy of No Bill, No Payment, but to see how much the travelers know about this new policy, and how much vendors adopt this policy. Generally, the vendors used to charge more than the price of water bottle, tea and Samosa etc. But now it will not happen, and a vendor will have to give the bill of the goods worth Rs 5 also. If this policy is implemented strictly, then it will benefit millions of passengers.
