People's University pays tribute to the heroes of the Kargil war

JULY 26 (WTN) – It is said that there is no service is the greatest than to nation service. The person who gets the opportunity to give life to the nation his life becomes blessed. Indian soldiers have alwyas bet on their lives for their nation if needed. At the same time the citizens of the country have the duty to felicitate their valiant soldiers for their bravery. In the same context, ex-servicemen were felicitated at the People's University in Bhopal, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas today.



The program is commemorated by offering the lamp lighting and paying tribute to the brave soldiers who martyred in the Kargil war. On this occasion, Megha Vijaywargia, Trustee and Director of University, Dr. Rajesh Kapoor, Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. V. K. Pandya, Director (Academics), Dr. Neerja Mallick, Registrar of the University and ex-servicemen were present.



Addressing the program, Vice-Chancellor of People's University, Dr. Rajesh Kapoor said, “Every Indian should be proud of Kargil victory, because this victory is an indication of the indomitable courage and valor of the Indian Army. After this conquest, India proved that how the victory is achieved in the war if there is planned manner.”



In the program organized at People's University on the Kargil Vijay Divas, the University's Trustee and Director Megha Vijaywargia, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajesh Kapoor, Dr. V. K. Pandya, Director (Academics), Registrar Dr. Neerja Mallick felicitated the ex-servicemen associated with various faculties of the University. Colonel (Dr) R.C. Agrawal, Colonel Alok Kulashreshtha, Colonel (Dr) Sanjay Dave, Group Captain (Dr) Anil Dixit, Major (Dr) Kailash Charokar, Lt Col Kesh Prasad, Lt Colonel Rani Gupta, Major (Dr) V.K. Yadav, Major Vinod Sahu, Squadron leader (Dr) Yogesh Sharma, Squadron leader (Dr) Jagadamba Dikshit, Major (Dr) Anil Mishra, Capt. Pritam Singh Yadav, Hony-Lieutenant Dinkar Jaiswal, Subedar Bhagwan Singh, Subedar Dinanath Prasad, Nb. Subedar Subodh Mandal and Nb. Subedar R.K. Mishra all were felicitated.



Meanwhile, former Soldier Major (Dr) Kailash Charokar and Major (Dr) Anil Mishra shared their experience of Kargil war with all, while saying that the Indian Army won the Kargil war with mutual cohesion and courage. The Kargil war was a war fought in unequal circumstances, which is a great example of the bravery of the Indian Army. We all should be proud of the Indian Army and its soldiers that even after difficult circumstances India won.



For your information, let you know that today is a day of pride for India, because India had driven the infiltrators of Pakistan back from Kargil hills 20 years ago.  Let you know that the Indian Army had won over Pakistan 20 years ago. The Kargil war was took place in the year 1999. The war was started on May 8 1999 when Pakistani soldiers and terrorists were seen on the top of Kargil.



20 years ago on today, the Indian Army successfully liberated Indian Land from the clutches of intruders by successfully executing 'Operation Vijay' during the Kargil war on 26th July 1999. In the memory of this victory, every year on 26th July is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Divas. According to official figures, 527 Indian soldiers were martyred during the Kargil war. Today the entire country is remembering the martyred soldiers for their indomitable courage and valor.
