‘This standard’ causes one of the reasons for the slowdown in the auto sector!

SEP 12 (WTN) - Let the global slowdown be the cause, or let the Indian domestic economic reasons, the auto sector in the country is currently facing a severe recession. There are several reasons for the slowdown in the auto sector. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman blamed the youth for the slowdown in the auto sector. According to the Finance Minister, the youth now prefer to ride in taxis like Ola-Uber than to buy their own car. After the Finance Minister's statement, once again discussion has been started in India that what are the reasons behind the historic economic slowdown in the auto sector?

According to automobile sector experts, no single reason is responsible for the slowdown in this sector. The auto sector has witnessed a severe downturn due to several big and small reasons. According to experts, the BS-6 standard is one of the major reasons for the slowdown in the auto sector. What is the BS-6 standard? And why and how responsible is it for the slowdown in the auto sector? Let us tell you about it.

For your information, let you know that from April 1, 2020, only vehicles with BS-6 (Bharat Stage 6) standard will be sold. In fact, in view of the increasing pollution in the country, the Supreme Court has fixed April 1, 2020 date for vehicle manufacturers to apply BS-6 standard. It is clear from this deadline of the Supreme Court that from April 1, 2020, only vehicles with BS-6 standard will be sold and their registration will be done only.

Explain that through BS, the Indian Government regulates the pollution caused by the smoke emanating from the engine of the vehicles. Actually, the number that occurs with BS, it shows how much pollution the engine spreads. The larger the number of BS, the lesser will be the pollution. That is, less pollution than BS3 occurs in BS4 and compared to more less pollution in BS6.

For your information, let you know that only two-wheelers and four-wheelers of Bharat Stage-4 standard are currently being sold in the country. However, even after the implementation of BS-6, there will be no ban on BS-4 vehicles already running on the roads. It is being said that the decision of the Supreme Court on BS-6 has gradually brought a slowdown in the auto industry. Now the government is also saying that one of the real reasons for the slowdown in the auto sector is the change from BS4 to BS6.

Actually, to measure how much pollution a motor vehicle causes, a scale named Bharat Stage has been made. Bharat Stage Emission Standards was introduced in the year 2000. This emission standard is decided by the Central Government. As we told you earlier BS means Bharat Stage. Bharat Stage is related to emission standards. Pollution is least spread, so BS-6 vehicles will have special filters, which will prevent 80 to 90 per cent of the particles like PM 2.5 and control nitrogen oxides.

It is claimed that Bharat Stage 6 vehicles consume very little pollution and match the pollution norms applicable in developed countries of the world. After the implementation of BS-6, there will not be much difference between petrol and diesel cars due to pollution. It is being said that the adoption of BS-6 will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by 68 per cent from diesel cars and 25 per cent from petrol cars. Also, PM emissions from diesel cars are expected to be reduced by 80 per cent. According to experts, the particulate pollution in the BS-6 vehicle will reduce from 0.05 to 0.01.

It is being claimed that the hazardous substances causing pollution in BS-6 will be much less as compared to BS-4. For your information, let you know that the amount of sulfur in BS-4 and BS-3 fuel is 50 PM, while in BS-6 standards it will be reduced to 10 PM, which will reduce pollution.

At the same time, it is being said that by increasing the BS-6 fuel capacity, cars will give mileage of more than 100 kilometers in 4.1 liters. Currently, cars do not actually provide as much mileage as claimed by companies. Following the Supreme Court's order, all auto companies will have to manufacture BS-6 vehicles, which will increase engine capacity and reduce emissions than before. Now that companies are gradually upgrading their vehicles from BS-4 to BS-6, the cost of the vehicle will increase with the upgrade.

It is being said that at this time conscious buyers know that if they stop a little more to buy a car, they will get a BS-6 standard car, which will reduce pollution and give more mileage. The buyer also knows that it will be easier to sell a BS-6 standard vehicle in the future.

As you know that after the implementation of the new Motor Vehicle Act, the vehicles' certificate of pollution is also being checked strictly. In such a situation, the buyers probably think that it would be better to stop for a BS-6 standard car for purchase. For all these reasons, it can be said that BS-6 standard is also a reason for the slowdown in the auto sector.
