People’s University participates in the 8th Bhopal Vigyan Mela

SEP 14 (WTN) – People’s University is participating in the 8th Bhopal Vigyan Mela 2019 being organized by CSIR-AMPRI at BHEL Dusshera ground from September 13, 2019 to September 16, 2019. People’s University aims at showcasing the indigenous strength and research potential of the nine constituent units of People's University namely People's College of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, People's College of Dental Sciences & Research Centre, People's Dental Academy, School of Research and Technology, School of Pharmacy and Research, People's College of Nursing & Research Centre, People's College of Paramedical Sciences & Research Centre, People's Institute of Management and Research, People's Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.

Centre for Scientific Research and Development (CSRD) is the state of art research and development hub of People’s University People’s College of Medical Sciences & Research Centre. It was inaugurated on 29th June, 2008 by the then Honorable President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil. It offers research facilities in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology.

People’s University is the only private research and development institution in Central India which is recognized by the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR) Government of India.

Various scientific models made by the students are being displayed at the Vigyan Mela. Model ‘Who the blood is for’ made by students of People’s College of Nursing classifies the blood according to the presence of the ‘Rh factor’ in an individual. Yet another model prepared by nursing students is a gestation calculator which gives an idea about the ‘Expected Delivery Date’ of a pregnant woman. School of Pharmacy and Research have displayed a scientific working model namely ‘Neuro-humoral transmission in Parkinsonism’ which helps in the medical management of the Parkinson disease. 



The model ‘Mechanism of urine formation’ made by the People’s College of Medical Sciences illustrates how urine is formed in the body and the other model presented by them demonstrates the process of muscular contraction in human body. Students Zainab Khan, Maha Ahmed, Sanskriti Mishra, Saman Choudhary from People’s College of Paramedical Sciences presented “Upper limb functional Rehabilitation unit” which focuses on easing out neurological complications like paralysis etc. Aleena Irshad, Rimsha Shahid, Anjali Vishwakarma, Pooja Parmar displayed a ‘Slant Board’ which helps in the rehabilitation of the lower limb. These exhibits are indigenous creations of the students of People’s University.

People's University provides research facilities for scientific study in Microbiology Biochemistry Stem-cell Molecular Biology, Immunology and Bio-technology.  People's University Centre for Scientific Research & Development (CSRD) offers two year full time course M.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology. CSRD also provides PhD program registration. It also provides facilities for one to three months Internship to B.Sc./ M.Sc. Students; Dissertation / Training for M.Sc./ PhD Students; 4-6 Months courses in Biochemistry Bio-Sciences Pharmacy and Genetics are also offered.
