Now photo and biometric information to be updated without any documentation in Aadhaar card

SEP 17 (WTN) - As you know how important is the Aadhaar card for an Indian citizen. Aadhaar number is required these for almost every important government work and to avail government scheme. But many times it happens that while process of making and issuing of Aadhaar card, much information gets misprinted on Aadhaar card by mistake or in haste.

In the Aadhaar card, people face the most difficulty with the photos printed in the Aadhaar card. Actually, the photos that are printed in the Aadhaar card are not good in the quality of the camera they are taken with. In such a situation, many times the photos of people on the Aadhaar card get blurred, or it has been seen many times that someone else's photo gets printed in the Aadhaar card.

After millions of people faced this kind of problems, when they complained about it, then after this the facility of correcting other irregularities including photos in the Aadhaar card is provided to the people by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). 

Yes, now you can easily update your latest information including your latest photo in the Aadhaar card. For some updates, you do not have to provide any kind of documents. Apart from updating the photo, you can also easily update your finger print, iris, gender, mobile number and e-mail ID; you do not need any kind of document to update them.

If you want to do all these types of updates in the Aadhaar card, then for this you will have to visit your nearest Aadhaar center. For your information, let us know that a notice has been issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). According to this notice, Aadhaar cord holders no longer need any kind of document to update the personal information written above.

For Aadhaar card holders who want to change their photo, biometric, gender, mobile number or e-mail ID, they will only have to take their Aadhaar card and visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Not only this, Aadhaar card holders can also make an appointment for Aadhaar Seva Kendra by visiting the official website of UIDAI.

For your information, let us know that earlier in a tweet, UIDAI had told that what documents would be required by the Aadhaar holder to change the name and date of birth in the Aadhaar card. Under the new decision, UIDAI has decided to give an opportunity twice to get the name corrected in the Aadhaar card.

Passport, PAN card, voter ID, driving license, identity card issued by government sector companies, letter head of educational institution, arms license, caste and residence certificate, pensioner photo card, housing certificate containing photo, one of the documents of address certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat head on letter head need to change name in the Aadhaar card.

At the same time, UIDAI has also set certain conditions for correcting the date of birth. Under this, if there is a difference of less than three years in case of change in the date of birth, then you can get it corrected by going to a nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra with the relevant document. On the other hand, if there is a difference of more than three years in age, then it can be corrected by taking a document at the regional base center.

For change in date of birth, Aadhaar card holder needs one of the documents  among birth certificate, PAN card, passport, date of birth issued by Group-A gazetted officer on letter head, certificate of photo identity card, Central Government Health Service Scheme photo card or Ex-Serviceman photo ID letterhead, class 10th or 12th certificate, photo ID card. Only then the date of birth will be changed in the Aadhaar card.

At these Aadhaar Seva Kendra, Aadhaar card holders can get their photo, biometric, gender, mobile number or email ID corrected or changed without any documents. At the same time, some important documents will be required to correct the name and date of birth.
