Election Commission's new app to make the voting process easier

Now QR code to be entered in the voter slip, voting time to be saved

NOV 08 (WTN) - Elections in the world's largest democracy India are quite interesting. This is why the Election Commission has been successful in making the election process simple, fast and transparent by using modern resources. But for a long time, people have been demanding from the Election Commission whether it is not possible that the disabled and elders do not have to come to the polling booth to vote on the day of voting and they can vote with the postal ballot. So for your information, let us know that this is going to happen in the future.

In fact, in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election, the Election Commission is about to launch an app, so that elderly above the age of 80 and physically disabled voters will not have to come to the polling booth and will be able to vote from the postal ballot. At the same time, it is being claimed that through this app the data of real-time booths will be available. The name of this multipurpose app is the ‘Booth App’. It is said that this app can change the direction of the election process in India in the coming times.

According to the information, the elderly above 80 years and physically disabled voters who are unable to come and vote at polling booths will be helped by Booth App. Elderly and physically disabled voters will be able to request the Election Commission through this app that they are unable to vote at polling booths due to physical weakness and physical disability. Then they have to apply for this within five days of the notification being issued in their constituency.

After applying, the polling team will go to the concerned voter's house and provide form-12 (D) related to the postal ballot and the polling process will be completed. That is now the disabled and elderly people above 80 years will not have to go to the polling booth for voting; instead, they will be able to vote using the postal ballot. This unique experiment will be implemented in Jharkhand assembly elections for the first time.

At the same time, the Election Commission is going to enter the QR code in the voter slip, after which scanning the QR code in the app will get all the information of the voter. This will save a lot of time in the pre-voting process. This will enable more and more voters to exercise their franchise in less time.

The Booth App will also allow voters to access real-time data. For this, the Election Commission will collect real-time data, for which as soon as a voter enters any booth, the QR code entered in his voter slip will be scanned and verified by the officials present. After voting, the voter's photo ID will be scanned, which will let the app know which person has voted. In this way, real-time data will be available to the user.

For your information, let us know that the pilot version has been used during the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Maharashtra before it was fully used in the Delhi Assembly elections. Using this app, voters will know how long the queue in the polling booth? Not only this, but this app will also be able to get information about how many voters have reached the booth so far.
It can be said that after this initiative of the Election Commission, the disabled and elderly voters will not have to go to the polling booth for voting, while real-time data will keep the voters informed about the voting the situation at their polling booth. Changes over time are necessary and the Election Commission of India is engaged in the process of making the Indian electoral system one of the most different, reliable and modern in the world, using modern resources in the process of voting to the counting.
