If forgotten ‘this important’ work then you have to pay double the toll tax!

NOV 22 (WTN) - Have you installed FASTag in your vehicle? If you have not got it installed, you must get it affixed in your car till November 30, or else you may have to pay more on toll tax. You must be wondering what would have been this FASTag and why you have to pay more on toll plaza if it is not affixed on vehicles, don’t worry we explain to you all this in detail.

As you know, when you pass through the National Highway upon a vehicle, you have to pay tax at the toll plaza. Only after paying tax at the toll plaza, your vehicle can go forward. Till now you have been paying cash money of toll tax at the toll plaza. But in view of reducing the congestion on toll plazas, reducing pollution levels, saving fuel and valuing the time of the people, toll tax on toll plazas will now be paid electronically and not in cash mode.

FASTag on the vehicles is now being made mandatory for electronic payment in toll plazas. Actually, FASTag uses Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID). This FASTag is mounted on the windscreen of the vehicle. As the FASTag affixed vehicle passes through a toll plaza, the sensors on the toll plaza will note the time of the vehicle of passing, it will benefit which vehicle has gone through when and where it is in the investigation.

As soon as your vehicle crosses the toll plaza, your FASTag will be activated and toll tax will be paid to the National Highways Authority of India from your bank account or from the payment wallet, depending on the carriage category. For your information, let us know that FASTag will either have to be recharged by you or it has to be linked to the bank account.

For your information, let us know that the unique number of the RFID tag affixed on the windscreen of the vehicle is fitted in the dedicated ETC lens. For this reason, when the vehicle crosses from the toll plaza, the toll charges are automatically deducted from the prepaid account of the users, which acts as an online wallet as per the vehicle category.

Let us know that the government has given a dateline till November 30 for affixing FASTag in the vehicles. After that from December 1, all the lanes of the National Highway toll plazas will be equipped with electronic toll collection infrastructure. And from December 1, if you went to the FASTag lane on the toll plaza and your FASTag is not activated, then you would have to pay the double toll tax in cash.

According to the information, at present, toll tax is collected through FASTag on a total of 400 toll plazas in the country. However, it is being claimed that FASTag will be made mandatory on all other toll plazas very soon, which will give freedom to the drivers from the long lines of vehicles at the toll plaza. Actually, FASTag is beneficial for commercial vehicles that travel long distances. If they use FASTag, they will not have to spend time at the long lines on the toll plaza and will save them precious time.

So if you have not yet installed FASTag in your vehicle, soon install it in your vehicle as soon as possible as you may have to pay double toll tax if you pass through the toll plaza after December 1 without installing a FASTag vehicle. Buying FASTag is very easy, and you can buy and install it online or offline. At the same time, different types of discounts and benefits are also being given to you on its use.
