Government resolves to double farmers’ income by year 2022

CM Chouhan inaugurates block-level farmers’ symposium in Palari of Seoni district
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that by year 2022, doubling the income of farmers would no longer only a slogan for farmers in state. Farming will definitely be made a beneficial profession in state. Chouhan was addressing a programme after inaugurating the block-level farmers’ symposium cum technical training at Palari (Kevlari) in Seoni district.
Chouhan told that farmers’ symposiums will be organized in all 313 development blocks of the state for the first time by the government between September 15 and October 15. Agriculture scientists, experts and officials will tell farmers about modern agricultural techniques, mixed farming and other methods. Efforts are being made to increase farmers’ income through various methods and technical training.
The CM said that government is committed to provide interest-free loan, grant on fertilizer-seed purchase, information on proper seed and fertilizer through soil health cards and fair price to the farmers.
About Bhavantar Yojana, Chouhan said that the Yojana that fetches fair price to the farmers for their produce has been launched in the country for the first time.
Government not to let burden of crop loss fall on farmers
CM Chouhan said that the burden of losses incurred due to scanty rainfall will not be allowed to fall on farmers. Government will extend all possible assistance to farmers. All farmers should sow crops in future in such a manner that less water is used. All officers and employees of the Irrigation Department should ensure that the information of the volume of water that can be made available through canals reaches every village. Farmers should adopt mixed farming so that they do not have to face crop disease, scanty rainfall or other losses.
Agriculture based industries should be made the basis
Chouhan said that farmers should participate in agriculture based industries like milk production, agriculture forestry, food processing and activities like bee farming and fish farming. This will help in promoting the income of farmers. Government will provide five milching animals and fodder for three months to each poor person. Government will ensure that farmers and their children get grants in self-employment based schemes on priority.
Chouhan said that Rs one lakh would be awarded to person bringing case of undisputed distribution of property and deed transfer after three months. This amount will be deducted from the salary of the concerned negligent officer.
Agriculture Minister Gaurishankar Bisen addressed the programme. Among those present in the programme included MP Faggan Singh Kulaste, MLA Rajnish Thakur, Dinesh Rai, Kamal Marskole, District Panchayat president Smt. Meena Bisen, Nagar Palika president Smt. Arti Shukla and District Panchayat vice president Chandrashekhar Chaturvedi.-WTN
