Swachhata Raths to visit every city-village with message of “Swachhata hi Seva”
CM inaugurates cleanliness campaign

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today inaugurated the Cleanliness campaign. He flagged off the Jan-Jagriti Raths for spreading the message of cleanliness from the CM House. It was told on the occasion that these raths will spread the message of ‘Swachhata hi Seva” (Cleanliness is Service) and saving water through audio and video means of communication. Mayor Alok Sharma was also present on the occasion.

CM Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 will be celebrated as Seva Diwas in Madhya Pradesh. On this day priority will be given to cleanliness and related services. Chief Minister Chouhan will visit such rural areas where adequate number of toilets is yet to be constructed. He will visit any such house that does not have a toilet and will offer shramdan for construction of toilet. He informed that the Cabinet members will also offer shramdan for the construction of toilets. He said that this would prove to be an effective attempt to make the public sensitive towards cleanliness and toilet construction because without the support of the people, the success of the cleanliness campaign is not possible.

Chouhan said that the campaign run by Prime Minister Modi has become a people’s campaign. Madhya Pradesh is also taking active part in the campaign. He said that Indore and Bhopal city bagged the first and second position in the recent cleanliness survey. Out of total 100 cities awarded in the country, 22 cities are of Madhya Pradesh. Special efforts will be made under the campaign between September 15 and October 2 in those areas where the outcome has not been as expected. The Chief Minister said that it is essential that every house is clean. This is the reason why great men like Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya were always in favour of making cleanliness acceptable to all.-WTN
