Remember the lyrics of the song form the movie Gharaonda (1977),"Do Deewane Shehar Mein, Raat ho ya Dopahar Me: Aabudana Dhoondte hai Ek Ashiyan Dhoondte Hai."?, the movie which reflected the future aspirations of a common man living in the Mahanagar Mumbai. 

Mumbai is too damn crowded, too crowded to live a living. Overpopulation had made Mahanagar Mumbai polluted, dirty and a lot other bad things to happen - bad things like Stampede. Lately, the Stampede near the local railway station added to the list of adversities city offers. Mumbai is the craziest and hectic city to live in on the earth. From skyscrapers to slumps at (Dharavi), all make Mumbai famous. Mumbai is home to 18.41 million people recorded during 2011 census


Change in climate is adding to the agony of the city. Mumbai is witnessing heavy rains, it always had, however, the rise in population of migrants and not much done by the City Municipal cooperation to solve the problem of drainage choking due to high tide and in the growth of population, Load over the drainage system, heavy rains causes chaos in Mumbi now.

A stampede on a walkway at the Mumbai railway station leads 22 persons dead and more than 30 injured reports officials.The tragedy occurred during the morning rush hours at Elphinstone station which connects two major local lines. Triggered due to by overcrowding and people seeking shelter from monsoon rains let the mishap happen. 

The incident occurred as torrential rain lashed the city and the passengers trolled under the bridge nearby to take refuge from the rain. The footage from CCTV shows people at the front slipped and the huge crowd toppled over leading to the stampede. 

"Twenty-two people have dead confirmed the authorities and almost 32 injured. An inquiry has set up for the identification of the cause. However, overcrowding on the mouth of Mahanagar Mumbai's  crumbling railway network is a perennial problem to call on. 

The incident has once again put enormous pressure on  Mumbai's current city planning to change with the change of times and changing of population statistics as its too old and insufficient. -Window To News
