Purandare who has written several books on Shivaji told IANS that world must know about Shivaji.

"Shivaji was not only a great warrior but a great administrator and leader. His life and works are useful to create a nation " he said.

The exhibition shows around 120 paintings mostly oil-based works of famous painter Deepak Gore Srikant Chaughule and his son Gautam.

The elder Chaughule told IANS that said that it took 14 years to prepare these 120 paintings and he converted the visualisation into canvas under the guidance of Gore.

"We travelled to the places related to Shivaji stayed there for months to get the historical details and first-hand experience of his works " he said.
