Infosys renames back office arm

Bengaluru Dec 19 (IANS) Infosys BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) the back office services arm of the software major has been renamed as Infosys BPM (Business Process Management) the company said on Tuesday.

"The company has received the approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to change the name of Infosys BPO to Infosys BPM. The new name is effective immediately and will be implemented across the company s services " a company statement said.

The new name reflects a shift in the nature of services that the software firm s subsidiary offers said Infosys.

"The change in the name signifies our vision of reimagining business processes across experience effectiveness and efficiency " said Infosys BPM CEO and Managing Director Anantha Radhakrishnan.

The scope and complexity of business processing work has changed "significantly" over the past few years and has gone much beyond outsourcing and offshoring the company said.

Infosys BPM would make use of employees with business domain expertise along with technologies such as robotics artificial intelligence machine learning predictive analytics rich content visualisation and mobile technologies to address business problems.

Set up in 2002 Infosys BPM has over 34 000 people employed across 32 locations across the world offering back office services to various firms.
