Four Indian companies win Deming Prize for TQM

Chennai, Oct 1 (IANS) Four Indian companies have won the prestigious Deming prize for implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) for the year 2019, the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) said on Tuesday.
The Deming Prize is one of the most prestigious global awards on TQM.
An Indian industrialist, TVS Group Chairman Venu Srinivasan, is being awarded the Deming Distinguished Service Award For Dissemination and Promotion Overseas, JUSE said.
The four Indian company winners of the Deming Prize for 2019 are - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Ltde's manufacturing units, JSW Steel's Salem works, Larsen & Toubro's Electrical and Automation IC, Product SBG, Electrical Standard Products SBU New Product Development, and Elgi Equipments Ltd.
Elgi Equipments said in a statement that it is the first globally established, industrial air compressor manufacturer outside Japan to win the award.
