Rapper Smoke Dawg Killed in Canada, Gun violence in Toronto has gone up 167% since last year

July 2 (WTN)-Toronto Police confirm that the 21-year-old former Skepta collaborator was fatally shot outside Toronto's Cube nightclub. Another person was also killed in the shooting.
At least two people have been injured in a shooting at Queen Street West and Peter Street in the Entertainment District. One person has been rushed to hospital without vital signs, Toronto police say.
Police say victims of yesterday's downtown Toronto shooting are Jahvante Smart, 21, and Ernest 'Kosi' Modekwe, 28. Smart was a Toronto rapper who toured with Drake under the name Smoke Dawg.
Smoke Dawg had Trinidadi, Jamaican and Somali roots. Smoke Dawg was a member of the Halal Gang (Safe, Puffy L'z, Mo-G and Smoke Dawg). He was responsible for the popular remix of "Trap House" in 2015, featuring French Montana.
