Mischa Barton was drugged with GHB before hospitalisation

Los Angeles : Actress Mischa Barton, who came back home after being hospitalised for mental evaluation earlier this week, has revealed that prior to hospitalisation, she was drugged with GHB, a date rape drug, while celebrating her birthday with a group of friends leading to her disturbing behaviour.
Barton was given the drug on Wednesday night.
It was previously reported that Barton was spotted hanging over the backyard fence of her home in West Hollywood, California on Thursday morning.
She has opened up about her drink being drugged during her birthday celebration.
"On the evening of the 25th, I went out with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday," Barton told people.com.
"While having drinks, I realised that something was not right as my behaviour was becoming erratic and continued to intensify over the next several hours," she added.
She stated: "I voluntarily went to get professional help, and I was informed by their staff that I had been given GHB," before confirming that she's home and doing well "after an overnight stay."
Barton also thanked "the professionals at Cedars Sinai for their great care and professionalism," adding: "This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings." -Agency
