Rahul Bose preferred real locations to shoot Poorna

Mumbai March 16 (IANS) When Rahul Bose set out to direct Poorna -- a biopic about a teenager who became the youngest girl in the world to scale Mount Everest -- he knew he wanted to shoot mostly at real locations. But shooting on the highest mountain is a wish that couldn t be fulfilled.

Rahul who has acted in and even directed the film shot a few scenes at the house where the real life Poorna Malavath -- a tribal girl from Telangana -- used to stay.

Talking about it he said in a statement: When we started filming Poorna I was certain we should shoot at as many actual locations as we can.

So we shot at Poorna s village Pakala her actual hut the actual location (Bhongir) she learnt rock climbing on and at HMI Darjeeling where she learnt mountaineering.

We would have shot on Everest if we could have but I doubt my crew from Bombay would have survived.
