Suriya not part of Savitri biopic
Chennai April 1 (IANS) Actor Suriya won t be part of upcoming bilingual film Mahanati a biopic on legendary southern actress Savitri a source has clarified in response to contrary reports.
It s true that Suriya was considered for actor Gemini Ganesan s role but the offer didn t materialise. The makers have moved on with the offer for someone else a source close to Suriya told IANS.
To be directed by Nag Ashwin the film -- to be made in Tamil and Telugu -- stars Keerthy Suresh as Savitri.
Also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a key role the makers plan to go on the floors from later this month.
The rest of the cast and crew are in the process of being finalised.
