Some films needed my help: Priyanka on turning producer
Mumbai April 26 (IANS) Actress-producer Priyanka Chopra says that she started her production with small and regional films as she thought some films and subjects needed her support.
Big personalities produce Hindi films. I am a small producer. I thought that there are some films and subjects which needed my help and support said Priyanka on Tuesday at the success party of her production Ventilator that has also received a National Film Award.
Priyanka attended the success bash along with entire cast and crew of the film including Ashutosh Gowariker and the film s director Rajesh Mapuskar. While interacting with the media she asserted that she always wanted to produce content-driven films.
Sometimes filmmakers doesn t get the opportunity to present their stories for the audience and that is the reason why I always wanted to produce content driven films across any language added Priyanka.
Ventilator is a Marathi language film produced by Priyanka under her company Purple Pebble Pictures. It has won three awards at the 64th National Film Awards- Best Director Best Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
She has also produced Bhojuri film Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi and Punjabi film Sarvann. She was last in Prakash Jha s Jai Gangagjal playing the role of cop.
