Jim Carrey cherishes guitar from Chris Cornell

Los Angeles May 21 (IANS) Actor-comedian Jim Carrey went down memory lane and cherished an autographed guitar from late Chris Cornell and his Soundgarden bandmates.

The band and the actor featured in one of the episodes of Saturday Night Live a US late-night show in 1996.

After Cornell s death on Wednesday Carrey tweeted a photo of the guitar and captioned it: This is the guitar that Chris Cornell and Soundgarden gave to me the night we did SNL together. A very special man.

Cornell the lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave died last week. He was 52.

After news of his passing a host of celebrities including actor-producer Brad Pitt Led Zeppelin rocker Jimmy Page and producer-musician Nile Rodgers paid tribute to him on Twitter.
