Live radio concert is trend-setting concept: Shankar Mahadevan

New Delhi June 9 (IANS) Singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan who will perform a live radio concert finds it an interesting concept.

His concert will be broadcast live on Radio City as part of Gig City Season 2 on Friday.

A live radio concert is a trend-setting concept. Performing live for an audience of 5.25 crore is an unheard of feat. I have sung in studios live and even impromptu but the idea of ‘Aap Jahan Concert Wahan (Concert is wherever you go) is amazing Shankar said in a statement.

As part of the performance Shankar of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy group will render folk songs that represent India.

He describes it as My Country My Music - India s first world music folk act and the songs have been hand-picked by him especially for Radio City s listeners.
