Mini series to showcase history of Indian cinema

Mumbai June 21 (IANS) Silsila Cinema Ka -- an eight-part mini series -- will soon help viewers enhance their knowledge about the history of Indian cinema

Starting from Friday on EPIC Channel the series will lay emphasis on India s diverse film industries and many milestones that do not find their space in the sun read a statement.

It will bring to light 24 lesser-known milestones and creatives of Hindi as well as regional film industries from various facets listing path-breaking stories such as Baburao Patel s Film India magazine the heroes of silent cinema besides Dadasaheb Phalke the early poster-painters of Indian cinema the transition of monochromatic movies to technicolour films and much more.

The first series will chronicle The Glorious Silent Era India s first feature film Raja Harishchandra and Early Talkie Gems that introduced music dialogues and sound effects to films.
