Youth trying to reduce the use of smart phone: report

June 25 (WTN) - While smart phone sales are on the rise, nearly 70 per cent of teenagers have trying to reduce the use of smart phones. It has been revealed in a research, done by a US nonprofit organization ‘screen education’ has shown that 65 per cent of teens are capable of disciplining themselves to spend less time on smart phones.

According to research, where 26 percent want to set their time limits of using smart phones or time spend on their smart phones because they are unable to do so themselves, while 37 percent tried to persuade their friend for this.

Apart from this, 35 per cent of teenagers expressed their sorrow over unable to keep themselves apart from using their smart phones, while 41 per cent attributed the phone for getting low grade in the school.

Screen Education Chairman said, it is time to take this drastic step to eliminate the addiction of smart phones in adolescents. These children know that their phones are taking away the other colourful moments of their life, and they need help.

In this research based on 46 questions, 1,017 children of 7-12 year olds participated. Research revealed that 36 per cent of teenagers are being victimized online every week, while 30 per cent of adolescents also face physical harassment after online domineering.
