There’s no better way to begin the New Year than with a change of atria with change of season. And Master to fill this desire of fashion with change in season is none else then Lakme. Lakme Fashion Week set on sail with the launch of fabric for fashion form Monisha Jaisingh yesterday.
The designer opened the summer/resort 2017 edition of Lakme Fashion Week, with the theme which is very aptly on a luxury cruise liner—the Costa neo Classica in the Arabian Sea. Sonakshi Sinah 29, strolled the ramp to be the show stopper was stunning.
In an opening statement to the fashion festival Purnima Lamba, Head of fashion Lakme said “"At Lakme Fashion Week, we aim to reinvent the platform every season. This Summer/Resort 2017 edition, we are taking it to an innovative venue at BKC. At JioGarden, we intend to use the open expanse to bring alive a whole new fashion week experience,".
This year show taking a leap further has sleeves to give new meaning to the very idea of inclusivity. The Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 edition will now welcome gender neutral model with Petr Nitka to be the very first on its sail.
The show is scheduled from 1st of feb to 5th this year. "The move to Jio Garden reaffirms our commitment to the business of fashion with a larger area for buyers and designers to interface. Everything this season will be bigger and further push the boundaries of what a fashion event can achieve," Jaspreet Chandok, Head-Fashion, IMG Reliance Ltd said.-WTN
