E-Commerce companies trades Items worth Rs 15,000 cr in the 5-day ‘festival sale’

India’s leading e-commerce companies have sold items about 15,000 crore rupees in five days in the festival season's 'Sale'. Top E commerce companies like Amazon, Flipkart and other players like Paytm mall, snapdeal etc got tremendous business during festive sale on their online sale. Amazon and Flipcart said that they have registered strong sales in smartphones, large appliances and fashion categories.
 
Redseer Consulting has said in its report that e-commerce companies have achieved better sales figures of around 15,000 crore rupees or two billion dollars in the festival season sales during 9 to 14 October. Last year, the sale of e-commerce companies in festive season sales was Rs 10,325 crore. In this regard, compared to the previous year, companies registered a steady increase of 64 percent in sales turnover. Apart from this, sales have also increased due to cheap prices and loyalty schemes.


Amazon India’s chief Amit Agarwal told that during first 36 hours of Amazon’s 'Great Indian Festival' sale, the figure recorded last year was crossed. He said that in almost all categories, our sales were higher than expected. More than 80 percent of new customers come from small cities. In the zip code we serve in the country, we have received our 99 percent order four days.

Amazon's major rival Flipkart claimed that their 'Big billion day sale' demolished all existing records and made a new 'benchmark' for the entire Indian retail industry.

Paytm Mall said that about 1.2 million products were sold from its platform. The figure of the shopclue orders crossed 1.5 million. The company said that it meets 75 percent of the orders from third and fourth grade cities. It mainly receives orders from small towns in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Gujarat and Punjab. According to Snapdeal, 38 percent of the orders he received have come from new buyers.
