* More freedom: A sense of decorum needs to be maintained in hotels. As much as you would like to release the inner primate inside you doing so in a hotel is ill-advised. At a campsite however things are simpler in nature. The areas are not closed off by walls or restricted areas -- you can lose yourself for hours just walking around and taking in the sights.

There is a sense of openness in camping and the sheer scope of activities you can take part in is enormous.

* Number of recreational activities: From trekking to adventure sports to starting a bonfire the amount of activities while camping is huge and will certainly keep the average person busy and entertained.
