Elephant kills man in Bengal

Kolkata Nov 24 (IANS) An elephant trampled a man to death in northern West Bengal s Dooars forest area forest officials said.
The gruesome incident took place on Thursday night on the Lataguri-Mahakal Mandir Road of Jalpaiguri district as Sadik Rahman 40 a security guard made no attempt to step into his vehicle which is the normal custom when any elephant crosses a highway.
The pachyderm attacked Rahman stepped on him and kicked him repeatedly from one side of the road to the middle the officials added.
He died on the spot.
