6.0-magnitude quake hits Iran

Tehran Dec 1 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted Iran on Friday morning the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.



It occurred at around 6 a.m. and was centred 58 km north-northeast of Kerman city reports Xinhua news agency.

The epicentre with a depth of 10 km was initially determined to be at 30.7652 degrees north latitude and 57.3306 degrees east longitude according to the USGS.

A 5.0-magnitude aftershock was recorded twelve minutes after the tremor.

There were no immediate reports of any damages or casualties.

On November 12 a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck an area along Iran s northern border with Iraq leaving at least 445 people dead and over 7 100 others injured.
