Srinagar Feb 3 (IANS) Minimum temperatures continued their free fall in the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh region on Saturday due to clear overnight sky a Met official said.



Srinagar city recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.5 Pahalgam minus 4.2 and Gulmarg minus 7 degrees Celsius.

At minus 13 Kargil was the coldest town in Jammu and Kashmir as Leh recorded minus 5.2 as the night s lowest temperature.

Jammu city and Katra town recorded 7.5 Batote four Banihal 0.7 Bhaderwah two and Udhampur four degrees Celsius.

Kashmir has witnessed scant snowfall so far this winter a cause of concern as the murmuring mountain streams serene lakes and bountiful rivers flow rich during summer only if there have been heavy snowfall in winter.
