Golden jackal rescued in Agra
Agra March 8 (IANS) A female golden jackal was found trapped in an eight-feet deep dry pool in the Cantonment area here on Thursday following which it was rescued and released back into the wild.
The about six-year-old jackal was spotted trying to escape from the pool where a fountain has been installed. The officers on duty called up Wildlife SOS for help.
A three-member team rescued the jackal later.
Kartick Satyanarayan co-founder & CEO Wildlife SOS said: "Finding a jackal in urban areas is uncommon but not rare. Habitat loss rampant encroachment and human activities are forcing animals to move out of their natural habitat."
