itel launches 'A46' budget smartphone in India

New Delhi, May 16 (IANS) China-based Transsion Holdings' itel Mobile on Thursday launched its "A46" smartphone with HD+ full screen display and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled dual camera setup for Rs 4,999 in India. The dual SIM smartphone features a 5.45-inch screen, 2GB RAM, 16BG internal storage expandable up to 128GB and fingerprint as well as face-unlock option. "We are confident that it will be a game changer for the first-time smartphone customers who look for full value in every purchase," said Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, Transsion India. The budget smartphone is equipped with a 5MP selfie camera and a 8MP+VGA dual AI rear camera. Powered by a 2400mAh battery and 1.6 GHz Octa Core processor, the "itel A46" runs Android 9 Pie operating system (OS). "'itel A46' is an all-rounder smartphone with a powerful combination of technology, aspirational features and aesthetics that will magically transform the sub 5k category," said Goldee Patnaik, Head of Marketing, itel Business Unit. The company logged a seven per cent share in the feature phone segment in the first quarter of 2019, according to Counterpoint Research.
