Google launches 'Play Pass' games subscription service

Tuesday - September 24, 2019 2:18 pm , Category : SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
San Francisco, Sep 24 (IANS) Google has launched Play Pass, a monthly subscription service that gives people access to a library of games and other apps on Google's Play Store.
Play Pass, rolled out on Monday, is available for Android devices in the US this week and will be expanding overseas presence soon. It comes with a 10-day free trial and after that, a subscription costs $4.99 per month, just like Apple Arcade.
"Play Pass is a new subscription service that gives you access to more than 350 apps and games that are completely unlocked-all free of ads, in-app purchases and upfront payments. Play Pass offers a high-quality, curated collection of titles from Stardew Valley to AccuWeather, with new apps and games added every month," Google has said in a blog post.
The subscriptions can be shared with up to five family members and also integrate with Google's parental controls for the Play Store.
The US based search giant was working on the Play Pass service since 2018 and began testing it out at the end of July.
