Expect rainy, cool weather in Delhi on Saturday too (Lead)

New Delhi Sep 1 (IANS) After the national capital witnessed pleasant weather on Friday recording over 6 cm of rainfall in the past 24 hours weather analysts forecast an equally cool and pleasant Saturday.

Delhi on Friday recorded 32.6 degrees Celsius maximum temperature two notches below the season s average -- the same as on Thursday.

On Friday Safdarjung and Palam area of Delhi recorded 5 mm rainfall between 8.30 a.m and 5.30 p.m while in the past 24 hours Safdarjung experienced 67.6 mm rainfall till 8.30 a.m.

"Rains will continue on Saturday as well ... light showers are expected. However the monsoon trough is now shifting northwards towards the Himalaya foothills " Mahesh Palawat Director of private weather forecasting agency Skymet said.

The minimum temperature recorded on Friday was 25.5 degrees a notch below the season s average and the humidity oscillated between 93 per cent and 86 per cent.

Thursday s maximum temperature settled at 32.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum stood at 26.6 degrees.
