June 23 (WTN) - Salt is the taste of food. But same like sugar, salt more than requirement can harm our body. As per the dietician suggested that the quantity of salt in the food electrolyte of sodium chloride NaCl, has a very important role in the balance.

It helps in maintaining balance in body cells and outer surfaces. But because of the high quantity of salt in the body, the balance becomes worsened, due to which the body needs to work hard to get additional electrolytes out. Due to this, the risk of diseases such as hyper tension, blood pressure, affecting kidney is increased.

According to the dietician, it is harmful to consume more salt than one tea spoon throughout the day. Actually, apart from food, we consume many such eatable things which have salt present in it. Therefore, the amount of salt should be only 5 to 6 grams for a normal healthy body.

Apart from this, if anyone is troubling due to kidney problems and hypertension, then they should take 2 to 3 grams of salt daily. Regarding rock salt, dietician also said that there is confusion about rock salt in people, that rock salt is beneficial, rather it is not so.

In rock salt, minerals like potassium, phosphorus, sulfur are more as compared to the common salt. Direct intake of these minerals is harmful to the body. In such a situation, the body needs additional electrolytes due to more sweating sometimes. At that time the rock salt can be used, i.e. More than 2 grams of rock salt can be harmful for the normal body.
