Zika virus threat alert in many states; Symptoms and prevention

In Rajasthan, the outbreak of dangerous Zika virus is increasing. After 12 new cases have emerged, the number of infected people has increased to 72. Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar states are partially affected; Central Health Ministry has instructed all the states to take measures to control viral infection of Zika.
Zika virus disease is caused by a virus transmitted primarily by Aedes mosquitoes, which bite during the day. Most people with Zika virus infection do not develop symptoms. Zika virus infection during pregnancy is most dangerous.
Additional Secretary (Health) Sanjeev Kumar, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, held a meeting with the representatives of the states through video conferencing. He asked them to implement the guidelines under the National Vector Disease Control Program to gain effective control over Zika Virus. An official of the Ministry said that the states have been asked to accelerate the vector control strategies to curb Zika, in which the elimination of larvae, fogging, and guidelines of the National Vector Disease Control Program Follow-up is included.
Symptoms of Zika
Light fever, restlessness, red rashes in the body and red eyes. Symptoms of Zika are like dengue fever. Such as fatigue, fever, red eyes, joints pain, headache and red rash on the body. Only a few of infected patients need to get admit in hospital.
How to prevent yourself from Infection
Do not let the mosquito grow in your house.
Use mosquito net during the night.
Do not let water reserve like pots, cooler etc in the house.
Keep cleanliness around
Use full sleeve clothes while going out
