Apollo Hospitals organised workshop on research writing

New Delhi : Aiming to help doctors and surgeons gain expertise in writing well analysed scientific research papers, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals here organised a workshop, the hospital said in a statement.
Organised by the Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma (JCOT) in collaboration of Delhi Orthopaedic Association (DOA) and Elsevier -- a publishing company based in the Netherlands -- the one-day workshop on Sunday was attended by nearly 50 doctors from India and abroad.
"The whole-day programme was organised with the aim to help the surgeons to gain expertise and insight into the conceptualisation, methodology, execution, errors and critical analysis of publication of their original research work in reputed indexed journals," said Raju Vaishya, Senior Surgeon (Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement) at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals.
The participants -- young and established surgeons -- were trained by editors and experienced reviewers from reputed indexed Indian journals (both surgical and medical).
"Scientific research writing involves clear transparent reporting of a research finding and its interpretation in a logical way so as to impact current and future clinical practice," added Lalit Maini, professor at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. IANS
