Thursday - June 11, 2020 8:47 am , Category : HEALTH
Gurugram, June 11 (IANS) The Haryana Health Department transferred Gurugram civil surgeon Dr Jaswant Singh Punia with immediate effect following criticism over rapid spread of coronavirus.
Rajeev Arora, additional chief secretary of Haryana (Health) said Punia is transferred to Nuh as district civil surgeon. He is being replaced by Nuh civil surgeon Dr Virender Yadav.
The official, however, said it is a routine transfer of two top officials but sources said that Punia has been transferred due to poor show in containing the spread of COVID-19.
217 positive cases were reported in the city on Wednesday as the tally reached 2,546 while the death toll increased to 13 including nine deaths in the last three days.
