TN logs 4,150 fresh coronavirus infections

Chennai, July 5 (IANS) Tamil Nadu on Sunday reported 4,150 persons turning coronavirus positive, said the State Health Department.In a statement issued here, the Health Department said, 4,150 persons turned Covid-19 patients taking the total number of such persons till date to 111,151.The total number of Covid-19 patients who died over the past 24-hours was 60 taking the death toll to 1,510.On the positive side, 2,186 Covid-19 patients were cured and discharged from various hospitals in the state. The total number of Covid-19 cured persons in the state goes up to 62,778.The number of active Covid-19 cases in the state after taking into account the cured and dead stands at 46,860.The number of infected children in the state in the age group 0-12 went up to 5,489.State capital Chennai continued to head the Covid-19 infection table with 1,713 persons testing positive for the virus and the total tally stands at 68,254. The active cases in the city stands at 24,890.
